   Tewksbury Girls Softball Instructional Clinic

         Grades Pre K and K (usually ages 5 or 6 as of August 31st)

                

 

 

The Instructional League is a FUN division geared to very young players with an emphasis on working the player's skills, NOT competition.  The Instructional League Clinic meets twice a week beginning on  May and ending in Mid-    June.  Innovative drills are used to help the girls learn the basic skills of softball.  the girls also participate in simulated games to introduce them to what they will experience in the Junior 8U League.

 

Skills introduced are:

How to Hold a Ball

How to throw a Ball

How to catch a Ball

Fielding Stance

Basic Fielding of the Ball

Basic Base Running
 
Proper Batting Stance

Proper Swing

Sportsmanship and Social Skills Associated With Team Sports / Softball



There are no tryouts or drafts in the Instructional Clinic League.  Every effort is made to place players on teams with classmates according to school information provided on the registration form.  If there is a particular parent you would like to see you child placed with every effort will be made to accommodate the request as teams are being formed.
